Cheapest and Best Primer Ever?

Beauty, Makeup

Hi lovelies!

The beauty community has been going crazy with the Nivea Men After Shave balm used as a primer which started from Nikki Tutorials on YouTube. Sheer curiosity got the better of me eventually so I caved in and purchased it – much to my boyfriend’s bewilderment.

Since Youtube is flooded with first impressions, I decided to do something different, a solid 10 hour wear test. I have had used this as a primer once before filming and it impressed me so much that I wanted to take it one step further.

The video is extremely detailed so I won’t write much on it, but I will say that my skin is combination type and this has worked better on me than Urban Decay setting spray. There is no setting spray needed with this baby. What really sold me on this mens product is the fact that it really is 2-in-1 : It calms the skin and serves as an awesome primer beautifully.

Hope you guys enjoy the video! I’m still working on my awkwardness infront of the camera. Or maybe I’m just always this awkward.

Don’t need to be a Yogi to wear Pretty Yoga Outfits

Beauty, Lookbook

Happy New Year, my loves!

I haven’t done yoga in more than a year since my yoga membership expired but that has certainly not stopped me from hauling super pretty and comfy yoga outfits. I mean WHY should hot outfits be reserved only for bendable bodies? I recall feeling entirely stupid when I couldn’t keep up with my yoga instructor at basic level. But hey, at least I was the most fashionable one in class.

I’ve been thinking of resuming yoga class so I picked up two precious yoga pieces from Vivre Activewear. I then realized that it didn’t look absolutely crazy when I paired them with casual clothes… so I decided to do a mini lookbook to show you guys how yoga wear can easily be translated to everyday wear if you style them well. The last thing you want people to think is that you’re headed for yoga class so it’s important to balance the sporty aspect with girly / chic elements so that the outfit looks put together.

To balance the crossed back yoga crop top, I paired it with a denim jacket to avoid earning myself dirty stares from conservative aunties on the train. I also decided to put on denim shorts because it would look oh-so-cute with the denim jacket. I seriously foresee myself wearing this outfit on a regular basis. For the tights, its super body hugging so to balance that off, I opted for a loose fit basic tee from Topshop. I love how this outfit turned out looking casually chic and I’ve already worn it out twice! I’m so into this sporty/chic style that I think I’m gonna have to purchase another pair of sports shoes to infuse this kinda sports element to more of my outfits. Not to mention, these kinda outfits are the most comfortable for Singapore weather.

Oh, you might have noticed that my hair is shorter now! I got it cut and I can’t tell you how much lighter my head feels now. Best hair decision I made in a long time.

If you haven’t checked out my YouTube channel which I created 2 days ago, please do! It took a lot of courage to get started and I’m sure glad I did… it’s such a good feeling to know that I’m now part of the YouTube beauty family – even though I know its going to be a really long journey to get to where I want to be. So happy to hear comments from family and close friends and I can’t wait to use the constructive criticism to make a better video next week! Whoop whoop. Check out my channel here.

As always, thanks for reading and I hope you have a blessed year ahead and a splendid weekend!

P.S. I’m wearing the tights the wrong way in the pictures. But it still looks good so don’t laugh at me.

Christmas Shopping Settled Thanks to

Beauty, Makeup, Skincare

Hello everyone!

I haven’t posted in a while but I’m back with a super lovely gift box from I cannot put to words the joy of receiving a big pink parcel which unwraps to a Christmas edition box.

I hardly ever purchase Korean products in Singapore stores because it’s just too stinking expensive. The prices in Singapore are really inflated in comparison to what the products sell for in Korea. When I was in South Korea a few years back, I bought heaps of skincare which I really enjoyed using but never re-purchased them locally. I would get friends and family who travel there to buy products for me but I would be really embarrassed to ask for so much because you know I have like a really really long list of what I need from there.

In comes – the ultimate Korean beauty shopping gamechanger.

I was beyond delighted when the kind folks from Althea gave me 60 credits in total to spend on what I liked on the site. By the way, anyone who signs up instantly get 10 credits (equivalent to SG10). Here’s the thing – everything on the site is significantly cheaper than whats sold in local Korean products outlets. By “significantly”, I’m talking a good 20% to 50% cheaper. These are products flown directly from Korea – authenticity naturally guaranteed, no bullshit involved. While the prices are guaranteed much lower than the prices in Singapore, from what I gather, it is not cheaper than the going-rate in Korea. But that’s fine by me.

Did I mention there’s free shipping when you spend SGD50 and above? That’s just mad. FYI, they are not paying me to write this post. I’m just really mindblown at this point. I have already told my good friends about this site and they are all equally as intrigued as I am.

Oh, this month, all your purchases will come in a super cute Christmas edition box which looks simply spectacular underneath your tree – perfect gift for your Korean beauty-obsessed girlfriends.

Of course, there are always two sides to a coin. Whilst there are indeed many many wonderful things about this site, I find 2 minor downsides:

a) It took slightly less than 2 weeks for the package to reach me (I guess because its flown from Korea)

b) The product variety is great but not exactly huge. (e.g. I was praying Dinoplatz Escalator Mascara by Too Cool For School would be available on the site – but to my disappointment, it wasn’t.)

These 2 issues aren’t that bad though. Considering the fantastic price tags, I’m happy to wait a little longer for the parcel to reach me. Also, it is worth noting that the product selection will be widen as the site grows. I’m currently in full anticipation mode for more products to be made available on the site. All in all, I am one very satisfied beauty junkie.

Just in case you’d be interested, here are the fabulous goodies that I chose for my giftbox.

I had previously purchased the Skinfood Black Sugar Mask  and the Innisfree Wine Peeling Softener during my Korea trip years back and I remember loving these products to death. They really do what they claim to do. Its amazing how Korean skincare products are so much more affordable than Western equivalents but work so much better. Not to mention, these products have a high level of natural ingredients. I’m most excited about the Innisfree Volcanic Clay Mask because I’ve never tried it before but have heard so many great things about it.

That’s all for today – hope you guys love this site as much as I do!

Review: Givenchy Cosmetics

Beauty, Makeup

Hello my lovelies!

Now Givenchy is not the first cosmetic brand that comes to mind when I think of high-end makeup… this is probably because I don’t really see Givenchy cosmetics advertorials as much as we see other high-end brands being advertised. Due to this lack of media presence, I have completely neglected trying out ANY of the Givenchy makeup products… until now, of course.

What made me go on a Givenchy haul was a crazy warehouse sale last weekend that I only got to know of thanks to an Instagram post that I chanced upon on my friend’s feed. Everything at this sale event was going for between 10-30 bucks!! That is like almost 60-70% off its original prices. I purchased many many items to add to my Christmas presents list but today, I will only be reviewing 4 main items which I was most excited to try out. Here are the glamorously packaged 4 items –

givenchy powder foundation lipliner cream eyeshadow cosmetics review 1

From left: Givenchy Prisme Libre Loose Powder Quartet Air Sensation No.3, Givenchy Lip Liner No. 10 Rose, Photo’Perfexion Fluid Foundation SPF 20 in Perfect Gold, Ombre Couture Cream Eyeshadow in No. 6 Kaki Brocat

  1. Photo’Perfexion Fluid Foundation SPF 20 in Perfect Gold

I have tried MANY liquid foundations this year and this is currently ranked number 2 in my HG book (after Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation, of course)

♥ Has SPF which is great because I never bother with sunblock, ever.

♥ Super matte finish which many girls would like

♥ Stays matte all freakin’ day (up to 10 hours, tried and tested)

♥ Super lightweight and no sticky feel on the face

✘ One layer provides rather poor coverage (This was quite a big issue for me – my forehead is naturally darker than the rest of my face, so when I applied 1 layer, it just couldn’t give my face that even toned look. I don’t like using more than 1 layer so I just left it that way and applied more powder to the forehead area.)

✘ Its matte formula can give a rather dull finish if you don’t complement the makeup with a blush/ bronzer/ highligher

2. Givenchy Prisme Libre Loose Powder Quartet Air Sensation No.3

This is the only Givenchy cosmetic product that I have actually known of prior to the sale… I’ve seen countless youtubers rave about this product but never got down to swatching because its just too darn expensive for a looser powder.

♥ Finely milled, resulting in air-brush finish

♥ Colour corrects and brightens thanks to 4 different tones of pigments provided in the box

♥ Helps to keep makeup completely matte in T-Zone area

✘ Creates a huge mess when trying to get the powder out

✘ Tendency to wash colour off your face if you apply too much

givenchy loose powder lip liner review

Here’s a picture of the foundation, powder and lip liner applied. The matte finish of the foundation combined with the added matte effect from the powder produces a very flat appearance on the skin.

3. Givenchy Lip Liner No. 10 Rose

I have no expectations for Givenchy’s lip liners because I have always only trusted MAC’s lip liners… and boy did Givenchy completely blow me away with the creaminess of their lip liners. Step aside, MAC.

♥ So creamy, you could apply it on its own as a lipstick

♥ Does its job of keeping your lipstick on for almost 5-6 hours

♥ Really good option to overdraw your lips because of its soft and highly pigmented formula

✘ It does fade away quite a bit after a huge meal

4. Ombre Couture Cream Eyeshadow in No. 6 Kaki Brocat

This cream eyeshadow was another product that pleasantly surprised me especially because the only cream eyeshadow I have good things to say about is ColourPop’s cream shadows. To be fair, you cant really compare the both because of the massive price difference (one pot of Givenchy is almost 5 times the price of Colourpop’s)

♥ In my humble opinion, this formula fares better than Colourpop’s – it is not as soft as Colourpop’s texture which allows for the pigments to stay on your lids for longer

♥ This olive green colour that I used is just phenomenal – beautiful colour which I have yet to see bring produced in other brands

I have nothing bad to say about the eyeshadow cream other than well obviously it is definitely pricey for a single shadow.

Here’s how the eyeshadow looks like up-close. I used Too Faced’s peanut butter shade on my crease and a random shimmer shade on the inner corners. The olive cream eyeshadow was really easy to blend! I was baking my undereye area with powder when I took this picture, hence the visible powder patch, lol.

Finished look: Added bronzer on my cheeks to bring some life to the skin and applied MAC’s Velvet Teddy on top of the lip liner. You can tell that my forehead is still darker than the rest of my face… ugh so annoying!

Ok guys – that’s all for my post on this Givenchy review! Thanks for dropping by and remember to stop by a Givenchy counter to give the brand a chance the next time you find yourself wandering into a Sephora!

Less is More

Beauty, Lookbook, Makeup

This week’s post is another lookbook one but I’ll be throwing in a review on the Marc Jacobs Re(Marc)able Full Cover Foundation Concentrate. Initially, I was just going to do a simple makeup review post but there was an unanticipated opportunity to get some pretty pictures taken when I met my bestie for lunch this afternoon. To cut a long story short, we dined at Stateland and were taken to the second floor because the first floor was full… and we basically had the entire second floor to ourselves for more than a full hour sooooo yeah this happened.

Don’t think I’m gonna talk about what I’m wearing because the outfit is pretty simple but I’ll state where I got the outfit from below if you’re interested to know anyway. What I do want to talk about is the new foundation that I had on for a grand total of TEN hours today. This foundation did. not. budge. I purchased it primarily because of the Sephora’s 20% sale in the weekend and had high expectations for it thanks to the countless dazzling blog reviews on it… but you know what – I didn’t love it. It did its job but somehow it just failed to wow me in terms of resulting appearance. It didn’t impress me like how a pricey luxury brand’s foundation really should.

marc jacobs remarcable foundation concentrate

What I liked about Marc Jacobs Re(Marc)able Full Cover Foundation Concentrate (shade – Honey Deep)

♥ Lasted ten hours on my face without necessity for a touch up (this came as a huge shocker – I personally have never encountered such longevity with other foundation brands)

♥ Very minimal oiliness / patchiness even after ten hours

♥ No skin reaction / allergy observed

♥ Extremely weightless – felt like I had no foundation on.

What I didn’t like so much

✘ Way too matte for my liking – I prefer a luminous effect that just looks healthier

✘ Precisely because its too matte, it basically looked like my skin. It was just weird and I felt like I could have completely done without it.

✘It does not photograph well – it oxidized to a shade darker than my skin colour (after merely an hour) that in turn caused the close-up pictures to appear dull and pretty much lifeless

✘Packaging wise, the bottle dispenses the foundation using a dropper – there is no pump. This can be messy and unhygienic to some but it doesn’t really matter that much to me.

marc jacobs remarcable foundation concentrate review

Left: Foundation freshly applied at 12pm; Right: Makeup with no touch up done throughout the day at 10.30pm. (no edits on both pictures)

Verdict: Giorgio Armani Luminous Silk Foundation remains to be my HG foundation. I would recommend Re(Marc)able to people who put on foundation on a very regular basis because it is really lightweight and lasts all day… but I do think having a nice luminous effect is much more attractive especially since I personally put on foundation once or twice a week at max.

Alrighty – before I wrap this post up I feel obliged to explain why the title of this post is ‘Less is More’. I put on false eyelashes without the assistance of a MUA today and it was my first time doing so. In the process of applying the falsies I stupidly stabbed myself in the eye with the prickly lashes a few times. On top of that, I realized that I looked like crap with the falsies – it made my eyelids appear to be really droopy and I was constantly tearing and ruining the rest of my eye makeup. I mean okay let’s put it this way – if you already have enough lashes like me, don’t be greedy and slap on fake ones. It just looks really over the top and goodness its just too uncomfortable to be even legal. Maybe I’m wearing it wrong but either ways – I peeled them off and threw them away even though they are supposed to be reusable.

P.S. My scalp condition is gradually improving – no more visible rashes on my forehead/hairline but most of it remains hidden on my scalp itself. Fingers and toes crossed!

Swinging With It

Beauty, Lookbook

Hellooooo readers!

Before I begin my fashion ramble on the very many exciting things (no, not really) I have to say about my outfit of choice today, I have to tell you girls that I won’t be able to post many in-depth makeup reviews currently or in the near future. Reason being, I have somehow developed a horrible rash on my scalp which is growing out to visible areas on my hairline. I know. Horrible. Please don’t even start trying to imagine how it looks like underneath my handy little bandana. Just know that it’s not cute.

After sleepless nights of intense Googling, I have diagnosed myself with a mild case of Plague Psoriasis of the Scalp (totally should have got myself enrolled in medical school). (Warning: Do not Google this condition. Do not click on Google Images.) Such a rash is commonly induced by stress – not surprising, since I have done a heck lot of overthinking in recent months. Another reason why I’m not terribly astonished by this is because I have super sensitive skin so such skin problems occur from time to time. That being said, this is the first time I’m experiencing problems with my scalp. I mean my mane has always been my crowning glory – take for instance that fact that the most Googled search engine input with relation to me is “tatum angela beins hair” and “tatum angela beins hair real

Excuse me while I sob in hopeless despair.

The next booking of appointment with the National Skin Centre requires an approximate waiting period of 1.5 months. This means that I am looking at 1.5 months window of probability that this rash could quite possibly spread to my facial area which is going to kill what’s left of my sanity but HEY I GUESS I COULD WEAR LIKE A MASK IN CELEBRATION OF HALLOWEEN. EVERYDAY.

Now that I’m done with ranting on about my (superficial) issue, I will proceed to blog like a typical fashion/ beauty blogger who portrays herself as a picture of perfection without any knowledge or experience of barbarian-like problems such as having a skin rash.

Firstly, I would like to thank the 2100 readers who flocked to my page when I posted my interview with Singaporean MUA Roxanne last week. That was actually the first interview I have conducted for this blog… I most definitely did not anticipate such an overwhelming response. So yes, thank you for dropping by. I was even approached by 2 beauty website editors wanted me to contribute articles for their sites. Apparently they  found my article shared on Twitter (note: I do not have Twitter). This definitely has given me added motivation to keep posting whenever I can.

Oooook, I have nothing much to say about today’s outfit other than the fact that despite wearing so little, I still found myself perspiring like crazy. The white tasselled top was really fun to be photographed in though – I had to swing my torso roughly 7937 times to get that shot. No wonder I was perspiring. Oh oh oh and this pair of shorts – probably the most comfortable denim pair I currently own. It really isn’t easy to find comfortable denim shorts because it tends to ride up the crotch area when we sit or bend down. Ok wait I think I may be lying about it being super comfy because I do find myself having to adjust this pair when I’m seated for a long time. Still, it is reasonably comfortable.

Pardon my overly casual writing style today, I really needed an outlet to publically announce my scalp condition. I’m just so classy like that.

Till next week’s post!

Behind the Scenes with Roxanne Sylvia

Beauty, Makeup

Youthful, ferocious and admirably ambitious –  she’s merely 22 years of age but Roxanne carries herself with decided maturity. She discovered at the tender age of 17 that being her own boss was the only way to go after lasting barely 3 months in a property company. She then embarked on 4 years of freelance modelling which she decided to cut short. Her confidence as a fashion model had faltered due to abrupt weight gain. Refusing to allow this change in physical appearance impede her #girlboss ambition, she took her fascination in cosmetics to a professional level by attending a make up course in Houston, Texas, 2 years ago.

Today, Roxanne is the fastest growing Indian makeup artist in Singapore. So how did she grow from zero to hero? How did she grow from having less than a hundred followers on social media to a solid combined pool of over 15,000 followers?

Hi Roxanne! What made you decide to be a #girlboss in the makeup industry?

Hi Tatum! Thank you for featuring my work in your article! I have always been intrigued by the wonders of makeup since I was a little girl. During my modelling days, I had the opportunity to work with countless MUAs – some of whom did my makeup really beautifully for photoshoots… others did not-so-great jobs. This lack of MUA talent pool in Singapore pulled me in deeper to want to be a MUA myself. Also, it was so much easier for me to do my own makeup than to trust someone else with my face… it didn’t take long for people to realize that I was good at doing my own makeup and that really motivated me to hold my breath, cross my fingers and venture out as an independent MUA.

(Above: 2 stunning pictures from Roxanne’s modelling portfolio.)

What a ballsy move! What is the biggest challenge you face as an independent MUA in Singapore?

The biggest challenge would be having to convince people to trust me with doing a good job with their faces. I don’t blame them because it is very common to get a bad MUA if you’re not careful. I do have proof of my makeup skills on my website and Facebook page but sometimes pictures fail to make someone entirely believe in your work. That is why I feel that spreading good reviews of your work via word-of-mouth is crucial for a MUA to succeed.

I’ve had my fair share of bad MUAs too! And you were definitely not one of them. I remember you did a spectacular makeover for me during a photoshoot about 3 years ago! You weren’t a professional then but it was still close to flawless!

(Laughs) Yes! I still have a picture of that… I posted it on my Facebook page all those years ago! My makeup technique has changed so much since then especially in terms of definition… attending the makeup course in Houston 2 years ago was when contouring was trending. This means that I picked contouring up from scratch and contouring has been an indispensable part of my makeup routine for all my clients since then! I am constantly improving myself to acquire the latest makeup techniques so that my clients will benefit.

(Here’s an embarrassing picture of infant me 3 years ago at an outdoor photoshoot for which Roxanne had done my makeup and hair)

Now tell me the secret behind your social media fame. You actually attracted thousands of followers over just a few months! People usually take years to get to that level. How did you do it?

I don’t upload pictures often – but when I do, I make sure that the picture post is of good quality (especially on Instagram). The images I share are always different… I change my hair colour regularly… this keeps people interested to find out what my next hair colour would be. Also, I think my signature ‘resting bitch face’ (RBF) also adds to the charm of my posts – according to my recent selfie that I posted on Instagram 1500 people quite like my RBF.  Lastly, tagging the official accounts of the makeup brands that you use in your beauty selfies will definitely gain you many more followers.

Personally, I have dolled up many local celebrities for their castings… they usually tag me on their photos as a way of saying ‘thank you’ so that also does bring in many followers to my account. It’s a fantastic form of publicity.  I’m really fortunate to have such links which has established when I used to act on local TV… it definitely has opened quite a few doors for me as a MUA.

I feel so honoured to be interviewing a TV celebrity! (shrieks) Besides being a celebrity, a MUA and all that cool stuff… I know that you are also coming up with your own makeup line… you have been terribly secretive about this though. Please spill the beans!!

It’s not going to be a secret anymore because I’m ready to tell you what exactly it is that I’m doing! I am currently working on ‘Roxx Pigments‘ which are basically neon coloured eyeshadow pigments. Good bright neon shades are really not easy to get your hands on in the market today. I’ve spent the past 2 years tirelessly researching and experimenting on ways to conjure up a recipe for organically made eyeshadows in the comfort of my own home… I plan to give the samples that I come up with to a factory to mass produce once I am done manufacturing the samples. Because there are many restrictions in Singapore, I intend to launch my makeup brand overseas in about 2 to 3 years time.

You’re full of wonderful surprises! Alright, last question before we go behind the scenes with you for the Indian bridal photoshoot tonight! What advice would you give to aspiring MUAs who are afraid to go independent?

I would advise them to start by working for a well known beauty brand or outlet (such as MAC Cosmetics or Sephora) until they have gained sufficient confidence to fly solo. They should also use this job as a platform to build up a good set of photos for their portfolio. Secondly, go around doing free work! Get ‘before and after’ pictures of the makeup looks that they create and use them as promotional material to share on their social media space… this would ignite response from their existing followers which will in turn create a positive domino effect!

Lastly, never. give. up. When I started as a professional MUA 3 years ago, I only had one client in a month or two… but I had to keep going because I knew that I was in this for the win. I linked up with other freelance MUAs and slowly increased awareness of my work through social media. Today, I am fully booked for the next 1 year! I will be starting bridal makeovers from next year onwards.

That’s all for this post, folks! Hope you enjoyed it and thanks for dropping by! Roxanne has kindly agreed to share a few MUA tips and tricks in a post which will be coming up soon! Ultra special thanks to Roxanne and her lovely model, Ashwini for making this post possible.

3 YSL Lip Products Totally Worth Trying

Beauty, Makeup

Hola chicas!

I’m so excited to be back with a beauty post featuring my top makeup brand ever – Yves Saint Laurent Beaute. I love that YSL never shortchanges on quality of the product itself and elegance in its packaging. Whilst I do love their regular lipsticks, I don’t find them different compared to lipsticks from other brands. What does appeal to me, however, is YSL’s unique range of lip products other than its regular classic lippies. Here are 3 YSL lip products I recommend trying if you have not already!

Volupte Tint-In-Oil (No. 5)

Volupte Tint-In-Oil review no 5

Volupte Tint-In-Oil review shade 5

This oil based lip product is YSL’s latest addition in their range of lip products. Shade is the deepest colour they have and in my opinion, it has the most colour pay-off. The rest of the shades are more of a transparent gloss. I apologize for my uneven skin tone in the pictures above because I had no make up on my face yet (I was too lazy to put on powder/ foundation).

Beautiful colour that adjusts itself based on your skintone comes through after you allow the product to settle on your lips for a few minutes

Gloss shine holds on well for more than 2 hours until you drink/ eat something (Intense shine starts to wear off after an hour, but gloss will remain)

♥ Even after the gloss completely wears off after about 4 hours, your lips will be left with a pretty stain

♥ Highly moisturizing – this product leaves your lips supple even after washing. It seems to have the effect of a lip treatment.

♥ Similar to all lip applicators YSL lip products come with, the applicator makes application so very easy. No need for any lip liner whatsoever.

Rouge Pur Couture Vernis A Levres (Shade 12)

YSL Rouge Pur Couture Vernis A Levres review 12

Rouge Pur Couture Vernis A Levres shade 12 YSL review

This lip gloss comes with higher colour pay off as compared to the lip tint. It is slightly less glossy though. I find that this lip gloss does not stay on as well as the lip tint.. this product does leave a pretty stain but it’s completely gone from your lips under 4 hours. I’m not complaining though because reapplication is no hassle.

♥ Gloss holds on for about an hour, coloured stain lasts for 4 hours max

♥ Lightweight, yet the colour is opaque

♥ It has a right balance of gloss and colour and can be worn with a bare face…just for the purpose to introducing some colour to your face on a lazy day at work

YSL Babydoll Kiss and Blush (Shade 11)

YSL Babydoll Kiss and Blush 11 review

YSL Babydoll Kiss and Blush cheeks 11 review

I had been wanting to try this product for agessssss. I bought this as presents for so many people but never got down to purchasing one for myself! A dual lip and cheek product is no novelty, but YSL’s take on it definitely stands out when compared to other brands. YSL comes with a unique selection of colours and the quality of the stains definitely come across superior to other brands.

♥ Super blendable, making it a dream to use as a blush. You could easily use your fingers or a brush to blend it out. A little goes a long way.

♥ The texture of this thing is divine. It goes on your lips like butter.

♥ Upon application of lips, it does have a tiny bit of shine but it dries to become completely matte after about 30 mins. Colour stays on for hours and hours. This baby could be on your lips for more than 6 hours if you aren’t eating like a barbarian.

When you use this product on both your lips and your cheeks, the colour coordination makes your makeup appear to be really put together even if you spent less than 5 minutes dolling up. E.g. from my selfie above, it really looks like I spent an entire afternoon getting my facecake on –  but if you look closer, I have no mascara on, no eyeshadow on, and not even foundation on. All I used was this YSL Kiss and Blush product, concealer and an eyeliner – Just three products to look like you’re ready for a date with the man of your dreams.

So, okay, let’s get real. YSL beaute products are really really pricey. If there was one product out of these 3 products that I think you should get ASAP, it would be the Volupte Tint-In-Oil. I feel that it is the most innovative product out of the lot and it will definitely wow you once you try it on.

Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed this post as much as I enjoyed preparing it for you!

Sunkissed in 5 Min feat. MAC Give me Sun! Skinfinish

Beauty, Makeup

Happy Friday, ladies!

I recently made my, handsdown, BEST MAC purchase ever. I first heard of MAC Give Me Sun! Skinfinish from Kathleenlight’s video. I thought then…’ahhh this probably only works on fair skin’ But when I tried some on at the MAC counter, I was astonished. This baby is really made for babes of EVERY skin tone. Even though this is marketed as a skinfinisher, Kathleenlights uses it as a blush and bronzer 2-1, which is how I like to use mine too. However, if I were to want something heavier for date night, I would put just a pop of pink blush on my apples of my cheeks.

MAC give me sun mineralized skinfinish tarte 12 hour clay classic review

Ok, so I know Give Me Sun! looks super light for deeper skin tones, but I promise it really does work even if you’re tan. Applying more than 1 layer would help to intensify its bronzer effect. I like to pair it with Tarte’s 12-Hour Amazonian Clay Blush in the shade Classic as it introduces some pink to your face which completes the ‘sunkissed’ look.

MAC give me sun mineralized skinfinish review

In the picture directly above, I have some concealer, loose powder and one layer of MAC Give Me Sun! on my face. Yes, just 3 products. (excluding my eyeliner and mascara) I don’t even have any lipstick on yet. I think this 3 face product look is something that can be worn everyday and just looks so very radiant and healthy. So I applied one layer of Give Me Sun! on my cheekbones and forehead – basically the areas where the sun would hit your face. I like especially that it is not a flat dark brown colour but has a peachy undertone which makes it possible to be worn without a blusher.

After applying some pink blush to the apples of my cheeks and smacking on some Velvet Teddy on my lips, this is the finished look! So easy and I love love love the sunkissed effect this combination gives! The only issue I have with this product is that it does not have fantastic lasting power which means that I like to touch up after a few hours – this is not difficult to do since its package comes with an in-built mirror, super convenient!

MAC Give Me Sun! has officially become my daily makeup staple. I know very very few Singaporean/ Asian girls who apply such bronzers because majority of them prefer super fair skin tones, but personally, I just adore the look of nicely sunkissed skin. Thoughts?

P.S. If you’re a few shades darker than me in skintone, you will love MAC Sun Power Skinfinish which will give you the same effect as it is a darker version of Give Me Sun!
